Beloved Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
American actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved television series including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles recently after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, per media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his family said in a message.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Television Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
