Jurgen Klopp admits coming back to lead Liverpool is theoretically possible.

The German coach, who stepped down from Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that rejoining the club remains an option. Klopp, following a hugely successful near-decade reign that included a European Cup triumph and the Premier League crown in 30 years, currently occupies roles overseeing worldwide football within the Red Bull organization and in an advisory capacity for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

Liverpool won England's top flight in the previous campaign, but many fans who adore the manager would embrace the notion that he might come back one day. Speaking candidly, he told the podcast host: “I declared I will never coach any other side in England. So that means should it be the Reds...absolutely. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“Being 58, which suggests the choice could be mine in a few years, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I can just see what the future brings.”

Conditions for a Comeback

When asked about the specific conditions must arise to bring him back to the dugout, Klopp admitted he isn't eager toward coming back. “I'm not entirely sure, I love what I do right now,” he stated. “No longing for management; I don’t miss standing under bad weather for lengthy sessions; I'm glad to skip interviews multiple times weekly or doing numerous chats a week.

“No nostalgia for the changing area per se, yet sharing a meal with the players talking freely, I appreciate that. We won a lot of games meaning regularly great spirits at the club. I still have the captain's chuckle in my ear to illustrate.”

Praise for His Successor

He commended regarding Arne Slot, acknowledging his role for the tweaks which secured the championship last term. They've been defeated four consecutive matches in all competitions following significant transfers, but he rubbished the idea it could be a decline.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker such as Wirtz, critics will regret if you use the wrong words. He’s an incredible talent. [Hugo] Ekitike, excellent performer. They have a strong well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret regarding the Reds, things will improve.”

Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota

He shared movingly on the loss of the Portuguese star, a 2020 acquisition during his tenure, and its impact on Liverpool. The forward lost his life in a vehicle collision with his brother this past summer.

“Can you substitute such an individual? This isn't just regarding his footballing ability, his personality mattered. It's hard to picture the team environment absent his presence. Putting it into words is tough about it. A devastating blow for all the boys as well. Nobody at Liverpool might employ it to justify results but it is the situation. Entering the changing area where his spirit remains. Handling this individually is not easy. Unbearable.”
