Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning run was ended by Sunderland before the international hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football team," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's only on the road win this season came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's home form, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
