The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Selected the Wrong Critical Role Track

The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated series by Critical Role, revealed a new introductory sequence. It showcases our favorite group of outcasts, misfits, and rogues kicking ass and taking names, while teasing at several heart-wrenching personal histories for key figures including the voice actor's mage Caleb, and another actor's orc warlock, the character Fjord.

All in all, the intro looks amazing. But I couldn't help feeling that something was lost in the music selection.

The intro employs "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional song created by producer and singer the talented musician. It's a track originating from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second one put out by the production company's music division their music brand. It's a wonderful sentimental option, and I believe that fans of the second campaign will appreciate its presence.

Personally, The Mighty Nein's intro doesn't quite capture the excitement and excitement that accompanied the show's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", composed by singer-songwriter the artist, was an instant classic for me when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it only got better when co-founder the performer wrote words to the tune for the series' animated intro in 2018.

Featuring vocals from one actress, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the song was memorable and fun. Back then, I hadn't seen the second campaign yet, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my device. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you start an episode of adventurous fun.

The Mighty Nein's intro with "the new song" doesn't strike the same chords for me. It's a grand piece of music, but from what I know of the group, I feel that its mood is a little off.

Naturally, the creators has already said that the animated show will have a few surprises and variations from the original live sessions. An adjusted mood for its intro seems to be among these.

This animated adventure will be available to watch on Prime Video from Nov. 19. For those eager until then, or wish to prepare to learn about the personas of the second series, the actual play are available on Spotify and YouTube.
