The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Series from the Creators of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The newest Far Cry game that players dived into was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for delighting in action and madness with similar enthusiasm, all while weaving engaging, politically driven narratives. No wonder then that FX's decision for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two visionaries whose creations have exemplified all of those qualities.

About the Series

Based on Ubisoft's hit video game series, the short-run anthology series will stream on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' style by introducing a new setting and cast of characters in each season.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and extremely entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this popular property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what character that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently greenlit for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the creator.

“Getting to work with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly generous, placing faith in us with one of the most renowned video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX team always encourages me with their ongoing belief and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style program. Every instalment is a variation of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the core of society through this multifaceted and turbulent perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and bring our mutual bold, ambitious style to the television.”

A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
