Ukraine has announced the commencement of mass production for a new domestically developed interceptor drone to enhance its air defences. Three initial manufacturers have begun production, with 11 more getting ready to set up assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials stated on Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Tested in Combat Conditions

The drones utilize a nationally created technology known as “Octopus” engineered to intercept Shahed drones. This technology underwent testing in actual battle and proved effective “at night, under jamming and flying low,” the ministry confirmed. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of manufacturing up to 1,000 interceptors each day.

Latest Attack on the Capital Described as Deliberate

The Ukrainian president described Russia’s latest attack against Ukraine as “deliberate, premeditated and wicked” following six individuals lost their lives and many others wounded in a series of night-time strikes throughout Kyiv. Alert systems activated in Kyiv just after 12 AM on Friday, with enemy UAVs soon detected overhead and heavy machine-gun fire from Ukrainian air defences.

The president stated the country was hit by 430 drones and 18 missiles. The deceased had been inside their residences in an apartment building on the capital's left bank when it was hit. Dozens of additional structures sustained damage, including the Azerbaijani embassy.

Diplomatic Objection After Diplomatic Compound Damage

Moscow's military were firing 200 to 250 glide bombs daily, with last month’s daily average standing at about 170, according to official military statistics.

Kyiv's Strikes Focus on Moscow's Oil Facilities

Moscow's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk halted for a period oil exports on Friday – equivalent to 2% of worldwide oil production – after a strike by Ukrainian forces. Military commanders in Kyiv said its military had launched domestically produced missiles and deployed multiple kinds of attack UAVs in the assault against Novorossiysk “within the framework of operations to diminish the strategic capabilities of the Russian aggressor.”

Ukraine separately targeted an oil refinery in Russia’s Saratov region and a fuel storage facility in nearby Engels during the night.

The number two oil producer Lukoil announced this past Friday it is negotiating with interested parties regarding its international holdings after last month’s restrictions from the UK and the US and failure of a deal with the Gunvor trading house. “The specific deal will be announced after the final agreements have been reached and the necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained,” Lukoil stated.

Ukrainian President Plans Visit to Spain

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to travel to the Spanish capital, the Spanish capital, on Tuesday to meet with lawmakers a day after his trip to France, Spanish parliamentary officials disclosed. The Ukrainian president would meet deputies from both chambers of the legislature during his visit, an official announcement confirmed.
